FOCUS
Follow one course until success.
FOCUS is the ability to stay on course.
Focus means to shine light on one thing to see it clearly.
An acronym has been formed from the word FOCUS; Follow One Course Until Successful.
Staying on task can be difficult but it can be particularly challenging when you are surrounded by constant distractions like we have in our world today where diversions are nothing more than a click away.
Even during your quiet moments distraction is literally at your fingertips. Checking your social media notifications, and latest news updates.
The ability to concentrate on something in your environment and direct mental effort towards it is critical for learning new things, achieving goals and performing well across a wide variety of situations.
Focus is a lot like a mental muscle the more you work on building it up the stronger it gets.
Staying on one thing is not always easy but it's very much achievable. It will take some real effort on your part and you have to make some changes on your daily habit.
Most times, we assume that we have the ability to focus on something but I have discovered that I have had hard times focusing on one thing.
There are so many things you will want to achieve at the end of the day but clustering your mind and table with all of them at once isn't a pro approach.
However, having one thing on your desk doesn't necessarily mean that you are focused on it. Focus is the mind's power. Our emotions and feelings affect our ability to focus.
Most times I would have a single task on my desk but millions in my mind. You see, focus is a two-way thing: Physically and mentally but most importantly mentally.
Your ability to stay focused is determined by your state of mind. If you are angry at something or someone and have not let it out, you might have hard time maintaining focus on a task.
Your focus is good if you:
find it easy to stay alert
set goals and break them down into smaller parts
take short breaks then get back to work.
Your focus needs work if you:
think about what you have to do every time without doing any (day dreaming )
can't tune out distractions.
track of your progress.
If you fall into the first category, you then already have fairly good concentration skills but could even be stronger with little practice so.
If you identify more with the second set of statements then you probably need to work on your mental focus. It might take some time but practicing some good habits and being mindful of your distractibility can help.
TIPS ON HOW TO MAINTAIN FOCUS DAILY.
Even though some technological inventions have become quite distractive, some are intended to help you maintain focus.
FOCUS APPS.
The focus apps are apps that help you stay focused on a task.
These apps can help you block distractive apps and notifications when you are busy.
You can use some to time yourself. Some block other apps while some serve as reminders.
Examples
focus plant
Engross
help me focus- blocks distractive apps
focus to do.
Forest
Blocksite
AppLock.
Etc
Some Android and iOS phones have inbuilt focus mode. I use App lock to maintain focus. It blocks any other app in your phone that you put under the lock with the duration you set.
You can set it to block you from WhatsApp in the morning hours for maximum productivity. Because major distractions of the young people has been reported to be WhatsApp status view.
Other app categories that enables your productivity are to-do list apps.
These apps help you plan your day, manage your time and track your daily productivity.
Examples
My daily planner
tick-tick
rainbow to-do list.
task
Engross... to-do list with reminder
todoist
Google task
Any do
Etc.
You can use any of these apps to track your daily activities.
I like to-do list with reminder. Once you set your task at a particular time, the alarm rings once it's time reminding you to get to work.
Being focus is one of the most difficult challenges we face as entrepreneurs, especially today with an infinite number of notifications, distractions, and all those shiny objects we just love to chase.
Time can be an Ally or an enemy. What it becomes depends entirely upon you, your goals and your determination to use every available minutes. Zig ziglar.

Nice write up ma. Keep it up
